How to Use a Vaginal Vacuum Pump: A Simple Guide to Gentle Vaginal Therapy

A vaginal vacuum pump is designed to gently increase blood flow to vaginal tissue. It is commonly used to support vaginal health, sensitivity, circulation, post-surgical recovery, and tissue responsiveness.

This guide explains how to clean, prepare, use, and safely apply vacuum pressure using a manual vaginal vacuum pump.

Step 1: Clean the Pump Before Use

Proper cleaning helps protect sensitive tissue and prevent infection.

1. Disassemble removable parts if applicable.

2. Spray all parts that come into contact with the body with antibacterial toy cleaner.

3. Leave cleaner on for the recommended time (usually 1–2 minutes).

4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

5. Pat dry with a clean towel and reassemble once fully dry.

Always clean before and after each use.

Step 2: Apply Lubricant

Lubrication is essential to create a proper seal and improve comfort.

1. Apply a generous amount of water-based lubricant to the rim of the pump.

2. Apply a small amount to the vaginal opening.

Avoid silicone-based lubricants.

Step 3: Position the Pump

1. Sit or lie in a comfortable, relaxed position.

2. Place the pump opening gently over the vaginal area.

3. Ensure the pump sits flat against the body to create a seal.

Step 4: Apply Gentle Vacuum Pressure

1. Slowly squeeze the manual pump once to create light suction.

2. Pause and assess comfort.

3. Gradually increase suction with additional gentle squeezes if comfortable.

You should feel a gentle pulling or fullness sensation, never pain.

Step 5: Use and Timing

• Start with 5–10 minutes per session
• Use no more than once per day unless advised by a healthcare professional
• Always release suction fully before removing the pump

Step 6: What You Should and Should Not Feel

You should feel:
• Mild pulling or fullness
• Increased warmth or sensitivity

You should NOT:
• Feel pain or pinching
• Experience numbness or bruising
• Apply strong or continuous suction

Stop use immediately if discomfort occurs.

Step 7: Remove and Clean After Use

1. Release suction completely.

2. Gently remove the pump.

3. Clean again with antibacterial toy cleaner.

4. Rinse, dry, and store in a clean, dry place.
